LEADING THROUGH COLLAPSE

LEADING THROUGH COLLAPSE
online course with
Jem Bendell and Katie Carr

After six years, nearly 300 participants, and countless moments of deep connection, learning, and transformation, Leading Through Collapse has now come to an end. This course has been a meeting ground for those seeking to lead with insight, care, and moral imagination in an era of profound uncertainty. Though the course itself has concluded, the spirit of this work continues—through the conversations and collaborations it has sparked, the communities it has strengthened, and the ways each of you carry its lessons into the world.

A Legacy of Learning and Connection
Since its inception, Leading Through Collapse has provided a space for people to unlearn harmful cultural narratives and explore new ways of being and leading. Together, we have:
🔹 Cultivated emotional resilience and deepened self-awareness
🔹 Explored ways to navigate complexity with integrity and freedom
🔹 Developed strategic communication tools for nonviolent change
🔹 Strengthened our ability to listen, relate, and act from compassion
🔹 Built a global network of peers committed to showing up with courage
Many alumni continue to meet with their cohorts years later, forming ongoing communities of support and collaboration. Some have launched new projects together, while others have found solace simply in knowing they are not alone in this work.

To everyone who has been part of this journey—thank you. For your presence, your questions, your willingness to look deeply and act bravely. The work of meeting collapse with honesty, care, and imagination continues, in each of us, in many forms.
With gratitude,
Katie & Jem
“This course has completely opened my eyes to the leadership structures around me, and the way I have spent my life responding to them. It has also helped me better understand how we have managed to exploit the earth's resources and people to build those structures. I just wish this was compulsory learning for everyone who sees themselves as a leader”
“Excellent online design/architecture and facilitation.”
"This course has a profound influence on my life and the way I'm looking at myself, my actions, my use of language and the way I'm developing the projects I facilitate."
"The mix of gentle, reflective and meditative practices, joyful play, hard academia and questioning debate and conversation allowed me to engage with each element in a different way, and preventing me from becoming weary mentally or emotionally from too much of one thing."
"A course that challenges existing narratives about what it is to lead and encourages us to unlearn convention wisdom that might be unhelpful (even harmful) in the uncertain times to come"
“It has helped me further develop my skills and emotional awareness of the response I want to make as a contribution to climate action in the future.”
